Please use this form to submit a standard copyright permissions request. If you have any specialized requests including non-English reprints, please contact our managing editor, Dr. Sharon Jones, at managagingeditor@clascholars.org. Before submitting the form, you should understand the following:
The granting of permission, of course, means that the material will be used as it is, without distorting it in any manner to make it represent something that neither the author nor the CLA Journal intended.
The granting of permission does not extend beyond the specified use of the approved request. This means that if one wishes to make further use of the material, an additional written request for permission will be required, and if granted, an additional fee must be paid.
Furthermore, granting such permission does not give a person or a firm the right to permit others to use The College Language Association’s material without the Association’s permission.
On the other hand, it should be understood that this granting of permission to an individual or company does not, in any manner, prevent The College Language Association from using the same material for purposes of its own, or from granting permission to others to use it also.
For those to whom permission to use material has been granted, The College Language Association expects to be kept apprised as to when and where the material is to be used, and to receive a minimum of two copies of the finished product in which the material appears. Also, the publisher will be expected to send one free copy of the project to each author of the original article reprinted.
Finally, each work in which CLA Journal material is reprinted must carry a statement crediting the CLA Journal as the original source of the material, and indicating that the material is used by permission of the College Language Association.
