CALL FOR PAPERS:
CLA HBCU AND HWI SPECIAL SESSION

To: CLA at HBCUs & CLA at HWIs Committee Members
Re: CLA 2018-Special Panel Proposals for Joint Committee Sessions

From: CLA at HBCUs & CLA at HWIs Committee Leadership

Executive Summary

At CLA 2017’s National Convention, two committees, CLA at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and CLA at Historically White Institutions (HWIs), proposed a collaborative 2018 panel idea. Whereas, a total of three panels will occur one behind the other, in the same room location. Each panel will discuss the larger proposed topic in diverse ways. The topic is “Radical Self Care in Times of Mass Uncertainty.”

Objective(s)

To discuss how the larger world, regional communities, and smaller campuses current climates impact our lives. Specifically, the first panel will focus on the topic of “Radical Self Care in Times of Mass Uncertainty” as seen at HBCUs, the second panel will focus on the topic of “Radical Self Care in Times of Mass Uncertainty” at HWIs, and the third, and final, panel will be a discussion on how we collectively consider and utilize “Radical Self Care in Times of Mass Uncertainty.”
