The Department of English at Wayne State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Composition and Rhetoric beginning August 19, 2019. The areas of research specialization are open. The position duties include teaching courses in the English Department at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervising graduate students research at the M.A. and Ph.D. levels, conducting and publishing original research, and department, college, and university service.
The Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition or a related field is required at the time of appointment. Composition and Rhetoric is one of the three concentrations in the Ph.D. program in the English Department at Wayne State. Wayne State University is an urban research university with the highest Carnegie designation of RU/VH (Research University, very high research productivity). The teaching load in the English Department is 2:2.
