University of Denver Position: Teaching Assistant Professor of Spanish

The University of Denver’s Department of Languages and Literatures invites applications for a full-time Teaching Assistant Professor of Spanish. Non-tenure track position, full benefits and initial three-year contract, renewable; promotion possible. Start: September 1, 2018. Teaching load: eight courses over 3 quarters. Salary: competitive.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD (or ABD at time of application) in Spanish or a closely related field with a strong Spanish component
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English
  • Demonstrated record of excellence and success in teaching Spanish language to students in the US at the college or university level
  • Demonstrated experience and accomplishments in active support of diversity and inclusiveness

Teaching will focus on undergraduate Spanish language. Depending on program needs, successful candidates will also teach (Latin American, US Latinx or Iberian) culture and literature courses in the Spanish curriculum, and will be qualified to create courses for the common curriculum (taught in English).
