Assistant Professor in Creative Writing (Poetry), beginning Fall, 2018. The English Department at UIC, which offers a Ph.D. in creative writing, is currently seeking a poet with distinguished publications (including at least one book, published or in press), an expertise in Latinx and/or African American Literatures, and substantial promise and / or experience as a writer and teacher. Ph.D. preferred; minimum MA or MFA. Candidates must be committed to making a significant contribution to the intellectual life of the English Department as well as to broader discussions throughout the university. Teaching load is 2-2, in addition to working with, and eventually directing, creative Ph.D. dissertations and M.A. theses in the Program for Writers (poetry).
